I have observed the collaboration pattern on the left to build products. The pattern on the right is an improvement because it has a better chance of yielding minimal design while reducing the overall scope of what needs to be built to achieve outcomes.
The two key differences are:
Don’t create designs in isolation, but treat them as a collaborative exercise which tests usability and feasibility frequently.
Don’t try to achieve all the business goals in a single design; the hidden assumptions grow and we end up getting feature bloat.
