I have a similar situation where I'm making a very simple SaaS. People try to come up with features, or "problems to solve" without having any experience in the target domain or programming skills.
It's remarkably powerful to say "nope, it's just X" much to their horror at the supposed potential that I'm leaving on the table.
This is also the first thing that I've actually been able to get out the door without feature creep too
